اليكم الان What does Yemen’s halting of operational processes at Saudi oil facilities in the south mean? والان إلى التفاصيل من المصدر الخبر اليمني:

For the first time since the start of the war on Yemen in March 2015, Saudi Arabia has announced the decision to halt operational processes at its oil facilities in the south, following a new operation by the Yemeni forces. But what does this step mean?Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:Saudi Arabia retains numerous vital oil facilities in the south, specifically in Najran, Jizan, and Asir, which were the scene of Yemeni attacks during the early morning hours today. These facilities belong to the Saudi oil giant “Aramco.”These facilities are distributed among oil refineries, the largest of which is located in Jizan; it is considered one of Saudi Arabia’s largest refining projects, with a production capacity of up to 400,000 barrels per day of Arab heavy and medium crude, in addition to producing high-quality petroleum derivatives such as low-sulfur diesel and gasoline. These refineries, located within the Jizan Industrial City, are still burning at the time of writing this report. In neighboring Najran, Saudi Arabia retains large storage and distribution facilities; these facilities are designated for supply and strategic storage of petroleum products to ensure the continued flow of fuel in the Najran region and the southern border areas. In Abha, part of the Asir region, there is also a fuel distribution station, a key strategic facility used for storing and distributing petroleum products and fuels to meet energy needs in the south as well.Add to that the Shaybah oil field, one of the largest liquefied gas production fields in the Empty Quarter desert on the Yemeni border. The Saudi Ministry of Energy confirmed that the aforementioned facilities were subjected to Yemeni strikes, which prompted it to suspend operational processes there. The Saudi step confirms that the attacks were very precise and caused severe damage, making it difficult to resume operations in the near future.Overall, Saudi Arabia’s decision to halt operational processes at those facilities constitutes a notable shift in the situation in southern Saudi Arabia. This means that large areas of Najran, Jizan, and Asir are being completely paralyzed, in addition to economic losses. The new situation will lead to a wave of popular anger among the residents there, who will suffer from fuel and electricity crises in the coming period. They will resort to drawing on previous Yemeni experiences to obtain fuel at the height of the war and the Saudi siege on Yemen. It will also limit Saudi hostile operations against Yemen, especially if the targeting of those facilities is coupled with the major operation that struck King Khalid Base in Khamis Mushait, which the Yemeni forces identified as an operational center in the ongoing escalation against Yemen, used as a launchpad for warplanes in their aggression on Yemeni cities.
