The area of the base and the airport reaches about 4 kilometers in width and 6 kilometers in length, and includes a main runway and a modern control tower.According to what the report revealed, the expansion and modernization works at this base continued over two years, according to the latest military standards. The field scenes showed the presence of a huge concrete aviation shelter and hangar designed of cement and reinforced steel for storing aircraft, weapons, and combat equipment, and it was camouflaged with thick layers of soil to protect it from inspection or monitoring via satellites. Dozens of concrete shelters, tunnels, and fortified underground headquarters are also spread around the base.A military source said in the context of the report that everything that was established is a “network of roads that serve the camps and military sites in service of the enemy, in transporting weapons, ammunition, fighters, and equipment to Tariq’s camp and from it to the other camps,” in reference to the rest of the Saudi mobilizations.The television report prepared by Al-Masirah channel’s correspondent Yahya Al-Shami indicated that a number of officers and leaders affiliated with Saudi Arabia fled from the airport while the Sana’a forces were arriving, using vertical aircraft.Confirming Sana’a’s Recent Statements About Foreign Military Movements:The revelation of this base confirms what Sana’a had been talking about regarding monitoring foreign military movements and establishments in the areas and islands under the control of the Saudi mobilizations, where those statements included “monitoring aircraft landing pads and military runways established in strategic areas along the coastal strip and on the islands governing the strait, such as Mayun Island and the surroundings of Al-Mokha city and Dhubab District.”The investigative report concluded by affirming that this infrastructure and military structure wasn’t established to serve the districts of the western coast or its people, but was set up to strengthen the external military presence and control over the Bab Al-Mandeb Strait, the vital international waterway.
