Israeli occupation forces continued targeting various areas in the Gaza Strip, resulting in injuries from artillery shelling and gunfire. Military vehicle movements were also observed in the southern and central parts of the Strip. The Gaza Ministry of Health reported that one Palestinian died from his wounds in the past 24 hours, along with five injuries. This brings the total number of Palestinians killed since the start of the war on October 7, 2023, to 73,382, with 174,236 injuries.
On the ground, civil defense teams recovered the remains of an unidentified martyr from Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip. The remains were transferred to Nasser Medical Complex in the city for forensic examination and identification. Local sources reported that a Palestinian man was wounded by Israeli army fire while in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, a densely populated area housing displaced people. Israeli forces stationed south of the city opened heavy fire on the tents of displaced people in that area, specifically those in the Al-Iqlimi area and other areas southwest of the city. This occurred as the eastern towns of Khan Younis were subjected to intermittent artillery shelling and heavy machine gun fire, with many bullets reaching areas beyond the “Yellow Line.”
Israeli forces also targeted displaced people’s tents in the Al-Mawasi area of Rafah, in the far south of the Gaza Strip, with machine gun fire. Several military vehicles also advanced beyond the “Yellow Line” there, under heavy fire cover.
Local reports indicated that Israeli forces established a new military post on the ruins of the Swedish Village near the coast of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.
Similar attacks targeted areas east of the Gaza Strip, particularly the Al-Bureij refugee camp. Israeli forces also targeted the eastern neighborhoods of Gaza City.
