Exclusive Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:The Hebrew newspaper “Israel Hayom” reported today, Sunday, that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has turned to “Israel” requesting its help in confronting the field advance of Sana’a forces and their control of the Bab Al-Mandeb Strait, in an implicit admission of Riyadh’s failure and inability to manage the battle alone.The newspaper said that bin Salman sent indirect requests to Israel through US Central Command (CENTCOM), seeking intelligence and other assistance to prevent the closure of the strait, a step that reveals the depth of security coordination between Riyadh and the Israeli entity.The newspaper indicated that bin Salman acknowledged, in his messages, that the Kingdom is receiving “heavy defeats” in the war against Sana’a forces, warning that “this is not a war that concerns Saudi Arabia alone, but a battle that affects the entire world,” in an attempt to solicit international and Israeli support.It noted that Pakistan and Turkey, which signed a strategic defense agreement with Saudi Arabia only a month ago, are limiting themselves to “mediation efforts” with Sana’a forces and refraining from intervening in the fighting, leaving bin Salman alone in the battle.It explained that US President Donald Trump is not enthusiastic about granting Saudi Arabia direct military assistance at this stage, despite sending Central Command commander Brad Cooper to Saudi Arabia to assess the situation, at a time when Washington is considering the possibility of launching airstrikes against Sana’a forces.As for “Israel,” which is suffering from the blockade on Bab Al-Mandeb and the near-total halt of activity at Eilat port, the newspaper said it “will not rush to effectively join the fighting,” but it may see in the crisis “an opportunity to return Saudi Arabia to the path of rapprochement with Israel and provide bin Salman with a weighty justification before opponents of normalization within the Kingdom.”
